When the first snow settles on the surrounding Alpine peaks and temperatures slowly drop, a time begins in the spa town of Merano that offers a pure sensory experience—the Advent season. Seeing, hearing, smelling, and tasting—at the Christmas market in Merano, all of this comes to life thanks to a unique atmosphere. The thousands of lights that adorn the city—and especially the traditional huts at the Christmas market on the spa promenade—the festive sounds and Christmas carols, the enticing aroma of hot drinks and fresh pastries wafting through the air, and, of course, the chance to sample them—that’s the true magic of Christmas.

Every Thursday in December leading up to Christmas, a private minibus will pick you up directly from the hotel and take you to the magical Merano Christmas Market, where you can stroll to your heart’s content between 2:00 and 6:00 p.m. and enjoy mulled wine and other treats. At 6:00 p.m., the minibus will take you back to Pontresina. A wonderful half-day excursion that will put you in the pre-Christmas spirit—an experience you won’t want to miss.
